AN ECO-FRIENDLY PICNIC AT TREGUENNEC
A picnic at Treguennec is always a marvellous experience, both on the beach or by the footpath which runs along the top of the old pebble-crushing factory. As this is a nature conservation area where it is forbidden to go among the dunes, there is no better place for an eco-friendly, waste-free picnic ! Recyclable tins of bigouden sardines, bread wrapped in a cloth, proper cutlery and crockery, re-usable containers of mixed salads and glasses of cider or apple juice. Afterwards, everything is taken home and nothing is put in the bin !
After this excellent meal, go for a walk along the designated paths and don’t forget your binoculars to watch the different birds which nest in the Pays Bigouden conservation area.
Hints on how to have a waste-free picnic
- Seasonal salads in reusable containers
- Put everything in reusable containers
- Wrap bread in a clean cloth
- Take glasses or travel mugs for drinks
Please note, the Bay of Audierne is a nature conservation area.
To help preserve it, keep to the designated paths. The dunes are cordoned off to preserve the area and protect the wildlife which lives there.
“It’s a beautiful area today, let’s keep it that way for tomorrow”
