Les Folies françoises was founded in 2000 by musicians with complementary and passionate personalities: violinist Patrick Cohën-Akenine, harpsichordist Béatrice Martin and cellist François Poly.

The ensemble is characterised by a singular and authentic quest for sound in the interpretation of European baroque music from the Age of Enlightenment. It brings together talented soloists who share the richness of this repertoire, which combines opera, choreography and instrumental pieces. For the past 25 years, the Folies françoises' artistic approach has been based on sharing and transmission.
